The partnership brings together Rapid Fusion’s large-format additive manufacturing systems and Polymaker’s pellet-based materials to support reliable, application-driven manufacturing.
Polymaker, a developer and manufacturer of advanced 3D printing materials, has partnered with UK-based large-format additive manufacturing specialist Rapid Fusion, effective from the start of 2026. Rapid Fusion joins Polymaker’s PolyCore™ Hardware Partner network, strengthening collaboration between hardware and material innovators to advance the adoption of large-format additive manufacturing (LFAM).
Bringing together expertise in hardware and materials
Rapid Fusion designs and manufactures robotic large-format 3D printing systems, including Apollo, Zeus, Medusa and Cerberus, for industries such as aerospace, defence, marine, automotive and construction. Its platforms deliver high-output, precise and cost-effective production of large components, tooling and moulds, while collaborating with material suppliers to ensure reliable, repeatable performance.
Polymaker is one of the early developers and manufacturers of extrusion-based 3D printing materials, recognised for its commitment to innovation, quality and sustainability. With an award-winning product portfolio, the company supports individuals and businesses worldwide in developing new applications and accelerating innovation.
At the centre of this partnership is PolyCore™, Polymaker’s specialised family of pellet-based 3D printing materials, engineered for specific end-use applications, with a focus on printability and compatibility with various pellet-extrusion 3D printing systems.
What Does This Partnership Mean for Our Customers?
The partnership combines Rapid Fusion’s large-format 3D printing systems with Polymaker’s PolyCore™ materials to support reliable, application-specific manufacturing. Through material validation, technical collaboration, case studies and joint promotional activities, this partnership aims to demonstrate the potential of LFAM and enable it’s mutual customers to fully utilize LFAM for industrial applications.
Validated PolyCore™ materials
Two Polymaker PolyCore™ materials have already been validated for use on Rapid Fusion’s extruder PE320 for Apollo, Zeus and Medusa systems.
- PolyCore™ PETG-1113: a cost-effective PETG reinforced with 30% glass fibre, offering excellent printability, strong mechanical properties and optimised gelcoat adhesion.
- PolyCore™ PETG-1013: a 30% glass fibre reinforce with additional UV stabilisation, delivering weather resistance, dimensional stability and excellent printability for durable, large-scale indoor and outdoor projects.
The first validated materials provide a foundation for further application development, helping customers explore more material options and meet increasingly demanding industrial requirements.
Case study spotlight: PolyCore™ PETG-1113 meets Rapid Fusion’s Cerberus
An example of the Polymaker and Rapid Fusion partnership in action is 3D printed office table featuring Polymaker’s PolyCore™ PETG-1113 and Rapid Fusion’s Cerberus deployable hybrid manufacturing system.
Housed in a standard high-cube container, Cerberus combines pellet and filament 3D printing with CNC machining in one integrated platform. Designed for flexible, on-site manufacturing, the system can be deployed in as little as 25 minutes, bringing large-format production capabilities to a wide range of environments.
Using Cerberus and the PE320 pellet extruder, the team produced the table base measuring 700 × 500 × 1,100 mm in just five hours, using 20 kg of PolyCore™ PETG-1113. PolyCore™ PETG-1113 was a strong candidate thanks to its good processability, making it suitable for large-format printing where consistent extrusion and reliable part production are essential. The print was prepared using AiBuild slicing software.
This case study is the first of many that demonstrates the potential and effectiveness of this partnership. By combining Polymaker’s application-specific pellet materials with Rapid Fusion’s high output and precision systems to produce substantial components efficiently.
