CymphoniK™ - The in-house Color Mixing Ecosystem Revolutionizing Large-Format Pellet 3D Printing

CymphoniK™ is a product family that combines a small set of coloured base materials, with complimentary software and hardware verified performance. Formulated to address the pain points of custom-colour requests, CymphoniK™ empowers end users with instant colour freedom that they can generate on site eliminating high masterbatch MOQs, long lead times and tuning mix ratios.

Finite Materials, Infinite Expressions

Polymaker, a global leader in advanced 3D printing materials, today announced CymphoniK™, a color mixing ecosystem engineered specifically for pellet-extruding Large-Format Additive Manufacturing (LFAM). Grounded in the guiding principle "Finite Materials, Infinite Expressions," CymphoniK™ allows design studios and 3D printing service providers to produce a virtually unlimited spectrum of custom colors from just six base pellet materials.

Historically, design and 3D print studios executing large-format projects for brand clients faced significant supply chain friction. Achieving exact corporate or custom brand colors required ordering custom masterbatch pellets, which inevitably came with steep Minimum Order Quantities (MOQs), lengthy production lead times, and zero flexibility for on-the-fly color tweaks. CymphoniK™ dismantles these barriers by shifting color control directly into the hands of the studio.

CymphoniK™ Materials

At the foundation of the CymphoniK™ physical ecosystem are six carefully formulated pellet SKUs optimized for homogenous color mixing. The core palette follows the classic CMYK framework (Cyan, Magenta, Yellow, Black) complemented by two essential keys: White and Neutral.

These two additional keys expand the workable gamut, enabling studios to easily dial in subtle pastel tones, deep rich shades, and exact color saturations without needing to warehouse hundreds of single-color inventory lines. Starting with PETG-1213 R50, Polymaker has validated over 100 colors and plans to introduce translucent colors in the future.

CymphoniK™ Palette Software

Accompanying the physical materials is CymphoniK™ Palette, an intelligent online color matching software built specifically for pellet-based 3D printing ecosystems. And CymphoniK™ formulations. CymphoniK™ Palette serves as the central hub for color selection and calculations:

  • Laboratory-Validated Library: Users can search and select from a pre-tested library of standard color formulations to immediately receive exact material mixing ratios.
  • AI-Driven Recipe Prediction Tool: For custom color development, users can define target colors using CIE Lab values, intuitive RGB/CMYK sliders, or a visual color picker. CymphoniK™ Palette’s AI color prediction model calculates the precise mix ratio required across the six base SKUs to match the desired output.

Precision Verification and Tactile Proof

To ensure digital concepts translate faithfully to physical output, Polymaker rigorously verifies formulations using the Delta E (Δ E) color difference methodology. Physical printed samples are measured against digital targets created within CymphoniK™ Palette, guaranteeing repeatable accuracy for demanding brand applications.

Additionally, Polymaker has validated this solution on various pellet printers and extruders, by working with marketing-leading LFAM solution providers, Polymaker verifies that optimal colour mixing can be achieved, across different screw and extruder designs.

"With CymphoniK™, we wanted to eliminate the traditional tradeoff between color precision and operational agility in large-format 3D printing," said Deborah Claxton, PolyCore

Business Development EMEA at Polymaker. "Large-format studios no longer need to order thousands of kilograms of single-use masterbatch pellets or compromise on a brand's exact pantone. By combining six fundamental base materials with our AI-driven CymphoniK™ Palette software, we are giving creators finite materials to unlock infinite expressions."
